Supposedly, a civilian was beaten by an army officer who lasted a search operation at the Rajouri of the Pir Panjal Valley on Thursday (April 17, 2025) at night.
Meanwhile, the army ordered an investigation on Friday after a protest, also, since he said that the victim was an attempt to “snatch.”
The victim, identified as Professor Dr. Liaqat Ali, suffered head injuries in the alleged assault in the Lam or Nowshera Tehsil area of Rajouri. He said he was beaten by an officer at the company’s commander level with his service rifle.
“I suffered from six to seven points in my head due to the butt of the weapon. It hit me strongly. I was carrying the dependents of my bound to his in -laws when our vehicle was arrested for the search. Several members of the victim’s family are in the army. The locals said that the soldiers of the 58 Rifles Rashtriya (RR) of the army were conducting searches in the area when the place of the incident.
“We are proud of the army. All I want to know is why I was beaten. If this could happen to me, one can only imagine ordinary or common citizens. Some bad officers are abolishing the image of the army,” Ali said. His video, with blood that oozes, viral on social networks.
According to the Army, there was in contribution on the probable movement of terrorists in a vehicle in this sensitive area. “The preliminary information suggests that when arrested, the individual tried to snatch the weapon of the service soldiers and initiated a fight with them,” said the army.
“If any personnel declare themselves guilty of misconduct, strict action will be tasks in accordance with the law,” the army added.

Meanwhile, the former J& K prime minister and the president of the Popular Democratic Party (PDP), Mehbooba Mufti, described the incident as “deeply disturbing.” “The teacher accompanied by his brothers was a route to attend his sister’s wedding when the incident occurred. This shocking act has destroyed the faith of a common man, especially painful that the victim’s family proudly has Mrs.” Mufti said.
She urged “IMEDED AND STRICT Action” against those responsible. “Such individuals tarnish the reputation of a respected institution through its unacceptable and high -hand behavior,” he added.
