On the birth anniversary of Br Ambedkar, Congress on Monday (April 14, 2025) reiterated his commitment to his idea of social justice and said that an “oath” is needed to continue committed to the protection of constitutional values and democracy.
Ambedkar is recognized for his life fight for the empowerment of scheduled castes and their key role in the writing of the Constitution.
Born in a Dalit family in 1891, he was a brilliant student who studied in foreign countries. The discrimination he suffered in Indian society made him a committed social reformer. He was the Prime Minister of Law of India. He died in 1956.
In a position in Hindi in X, the president of Congress, Mallikarjun Kharge, said: “Babasheb, Dr. Ambedkar, gave the people of the country the constitution of India based on the democratic values of justice, freedom, equality and fraternity, which mosters powerful”
Ambedkar described the inclination and conflict as its final duty for the progress and unity of the country and strongly emphasized the protection of everyone’s rights, Kharge said.

“On its 135th anniversary of birth, we reiterate our unwavering commitment to its ideas of social change and social justice. The Congress party takes an oath that we will always continue to be committed to the protection of constitutional values and the protection of democracy.”
Paying tributes to Ambedkar, leader of the opposition at the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, said his struggle and contribution to strengthen the democracy of the country and guarantee equal rights for each Indian “will always guide.”
“Tributes to Babasaheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution, on his birth anniversary,” said Mr. Gandhi in X.
“His contribution and struggle to strengthen the democracy of the country, for the equal rights of each Indian and for the participation of each section will always guide us in the struggle to protect the Constitution,” said the former president of Congress.
The Secretary General of Congress, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, paid tributes to Ambedkar and asked people to commit to protect the Constitution and their values in all circumstances.
“Tributes to the architect of the Constitution, the country’s law prime minister, Bharat Ratna Babasaheb, Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Ji, on his birth anniversary. All Indians,” he said.

“Our Constitution is the protective shield of each Indian and today attempts are being made to break this protective shield. The Constitution is being weekly by the power of the government,” said Priyanka Gandhi in a position in Hindi in X.
“Come, we commit that we protect the constitution of Babasaheb and its values in all circumstances,” he said.
AICC General Secretary KC Venufopal also paid tributes to Ambedkar and said Congress is dedicated to fulfilling his dream and bringing social justice to all private sections of society.
