When sending a strong message of zero tolerance, Karnataka Labor Minister, Santosh Lad, said that the mooring of the action to the tasks not only against migrant workers brought by contractors and unions if the cough activity is involved. “Not only the defendant, but the contractor will also be arrested,” Lad told News18.
Lad advocated a law to regulate the arrival of workers from other states to Karnataka. He said that there can be no specialized frank or verification as they are from the un organized sector.
“There is the need to raise awareness and a sense of responsibility among those who bring migrant workers and those who come from other states to work in Karnataka,” he told News18.
His statement occurs following the alleged kidnapping and murder of a five -year -old girl in Hubballi by Ritesh Kumar, a native of Patna de Bihar, who was later killed in the police, an incident that shocked the state.
“People come from all Indian acrross, from Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala. How do we regulate the movement of interstate workers? This needs discussion so that a robust system is well in its place. There is a need for a law,” said Lad.
At a meeting that the minister held with representatives of the labor industry, LAD not only took the contractors for being lax and lousy in such research processes, but also asked them to obtain information on the contracted workers who have hired other states on a regular basis.
“As of today, we issue 8,500 contract licenses. Heroes a meeting with them and we quote them to seriously analyze the background of those who bring. Those who come and go, there must be some information about them.
“The biggest challenge, as is the un organized sector, is that it is possible to keep in the organized sectors. But, but how workers who travel largely by bus or train the State? They come from a section under construction or agricultural.
The Minister of Labor’s meeting is produced at the bottom of the Interior Minister of Karnataka, G Parameshwara, saying that he would talk to LD about how “it is discovered that migrant workers are dedicated to crimes and it is necessary to regulate who enters the State.” Parameshwara also agreed with the LAD point that the workforce that comes to Karnataka of other states cannot be detained, but there was a definitive need to take the necessary measures when it was discovered that it is invaded in criminal activities.
The sources say that a special working group will also be established to closely monitor the details of the workers brought by the contractors.
