The governor of Tamil Nadu, RN Ravi, alleged Monday that crimes against scheduled castes are increasing in the state. “In 2020, there were 12,174 cases of this type. In just two years, that number increased by more than 1,800, an increase of 50%. Crimes against Dalit women are increasing,” he said in his presidential speech by commemorating Babaarya Raj Bhavan.

The rate of conviction of such crimes in Tamil Nadu is less than half of the national average. These are facts: political statements of memorandum, Ravi said. “Discrimination still exists, without a doubt. But the son of the stories we listen to in Tamil Nadu, a state that claims that defends social justice is heartbreaking,” he said citing a series of incidents, including the human exhibition found in a water tank. “When I come to Tamil Nadu, a state that social justice frequently speaks, the difficult situation of our Dalit brothers and sisters hurt,” Ravi said.

Duration tragedies such as illicit liquor deaths in Kallakurichi, where 66 people and hundreds of people died, most of the victims were dalits, he said.

“Look at the educational state of our Dalit children in government schools more than half of high school students cannot read a second standard book. They can identify a two -digit number between 11 and 99. However, they are what they hear from the hosts. Skills and no real education?

This is the age of the knowledge economy. Without skill and education, our young people have no future. Private schools flourish, producing the best students in the country, while government schools are worst, invent that some of the low -performance historical states, he said.

“And who are the victims of this educational division? Poor children Dalit. They are condemned to a life of poverty that is not given a quality education. When they graduate live, they are not an employee.” Ravi said.

“This is not a political problem: it is a human problem. A social problem. These children are our brothers and sisters. They deserve a life of dignity. The Constitution promises a life of dignity for each one and the dignity when?” Ravi said.
