A 27 -year -old woman, who pretended pregnancy in front of the family after seven years of marriage without a baby, was arrested for allegedly kidnapping a one -day baby from the Safdarjung hospital in the national capital, police said.
The woman was identified as Pooja, from Malviya Nagar, who would visit varied hospitals and identify objectives interacting with patients and their families.
What did the police say?
Police said she became a friend of the child’s family and stole the baby nursery when others were not present.

Police said they received a call around 4 pm on Tuesday about a kidnapped one -day girl. How did the police tracked the woman?
According to CCTV images in the hospital and nearby areas, a seemingly pregnant woman was wandering on the same floor of the hospital where the child disappeared, with a partially covered face of a Dupatta. He was seen talking to the patient woman. Later he was seen entertaining the room of which the baby was kidnapped, police said.
The deepest CCTV analysis showed that it was addressing Delhi subway towards Samaypur Badli at the Aiims Metro station. She, however, left the train at the Ina station to deceive the police. With the help of local sources, the police identified the woman and registered her home, where they found the kidnapped baby.
Questioning the duration, Pooja admitted that he had pretended his pregnancy for several months. He had married his leg for seven and moved with his parents, saying he was waiting. On April 14, he left his house alleging that he was going to the Safdarjung hospital for his birth. He returned the next day with the kidnapped baby, pretending to be his.
