The collector of the district of Nilgiris, Lakshmi Bhavya Tanneeru, on Thursday, inaugurated an effort of a group of self -help for women to provide traditional food to Kinnakorai Visitor of tourists in Kundha Taluk.
The initiative, to provide livelihoods to women in rural areas, is funded by the rural life mission of the state of Tamil Nadu, declared the administration of the Nilgiris district.
Speaking after the inauguration, the collector declared that Kinnakorai, located in the village of Mel Kundha, has become an ideal tourism place, known for his impressive landscape. She said that the number of tourists visiting the region, especially Kerala and Tamil Nadu, during the holiday season, had increased exponentially.
He added that in the Nilgiris, the products manufactured by self -help groups for women, as well as food things, were sold to tourists. To ensure that tourists visiting Kinnakorai also have access to high quality delicious food, this initiative was inaugurated in the area, he added.
The collector also visited several all in the Kundha Taluk and interacted with local residents to determine their access to basic facilities. Also present the visit were other senior officials of the Nilgiris district administration.
