A team of experts from the Central Station of Soil and Materials Research (CSMRs) and the Ministry of Jal Shakti visited the Polavaram project in the district of Eluru and collected soil samples on Thursday.
The central team comprising B. Siddharth Hedaoo and Vipul Kumar Gupta, together with the Department of Water Resources and representatives of Megha Engineering and Infrastructura Limited (Meil), visited the project site.
The team of experts tested the quality of the soil in different places of the project site and gathered samples that last their two -day visit.
They examined the ground in the landfill and other places. The samples would be tested in the CSMRS laboratory, they said.
Division Engineer of the Water Resources Department V. Nirmala, Executive Engineer V. Srinivasulu and Meil’s engineers accompanied the team of experts.
