Almost a decade after the Karnataka State Commission for backward classes completes the socioeconomic and educational survey (caste census) or families in the state, the cabinet accepted the report on Friday in 50 volumes, which will do it now.
The report is derived from the data collected in the survey conducted by the commission headed by H. Kantharaj in 2015, at the expense of ₹ 192 million rupees, but presented by its successor K. Jayaprakash Hegde was open at the cabinet meeting.
Demand for ministers
“Some ministers wanted to see the recommendation in the report before the discussion. The survey that was presented today will be discussed on April 17,” said Prime Minister Siddaramaiah to Presperson after the cabinet meeting.
Multiple sources confirmed that the ministers that belong to the communities of Vokkiga and Lingayat, who oppose the survey and have called it “non -scientific”, warned the main minister not to be in a hurry to address the report.
It is learned that the ministers have reminded the prime minister of the political ramifications of the report that became public without discussion and urged him to trust all communities. The ministers also requested the report/recommendations before a discussion could be carried out, it is learned, after which, the main minister said the copies would be distributed among the ministers.
The Minister of the back classes, Shivraj Tangadagi told Prens Duration that the information about the cabinet after the cabin that there was no opposition to the report that was presented and that the decision to discuss in the next cabinet was unanimous.
In 50 volumes
The 50 volumes, said the minister, included the result of the survey report, a volume of caste population, eight volumes of caste characteristics (which leave the castes-SC/ tribes-st programmed), a volume of assistance or characteristic data of data and 30 volumes of district data and Taluk-Sabios. Up to 1,351 castes and subcases had listed in the leg in the report.
According to him, 94.17 % or approximately 5.98 million rupees of the projected population of 6.35 million rupees in 2015 (the population of Karnataka was linked to 6.11 million rupees in the 2011 census) in the state had covered the leg.
“Only about 37 Lakh of people remained out of the survey. A total of 1.8 Lakh officials, including approximately 1.3 Lakh enumerators, participated in the survey. Up to 54 parameters had one leg for the collection of dates,” he added.
When asked about the population that had left the leg, an important objection of Verashaiva-Lingayat and Vokkiga Coimmunities Law and the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, HK Patil, said: “This (survey) is very large and successful.
