The leader of the BJP and former Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Virendra Kanwar, on Monday (April 14, 2025) said he had received a rescue call demanding ₹ 20-25 Lakh and the person who called unknown threatened to kidnap and kill him.
Police said that after receiving a complaint from Mr. Kanwar in the matter, a case was recorded and investigations began.
According to the complaint, the person who called had been presented as Dharmendra de Aligarh of Uttar Pradesh, just although the true call application showed his name Irfan Khan.
The Superintendent or the Rakesh Singh police said that a police personnel should track the defendant with the help of the police cyber cell.
