Madras, May 18: The storm experience has a leg as severe in the sea as on land. The SS “Jalaputra” and the SS “Hooghly” are now in the port of Madras very tattered and damaged, due to the ravages caused by the storm. The ships of both were caught in the storm off the coast of Cocananda, the “Jalaputra” was on the way to Cuddalore to Cocanada with a rice load, and the “Hooghly” is on its way to Madras from Calcuta and company or Coalia. The “Jalaputra” was in the storm for about twenty -four hours and the “Hooghly” for a few hours.
