A Court in Gonda de Uttar Pradesh has sentenced five men, including a father-son and two brothers, perpetual chain in relation to a case of murder and attempted murder of 2018.
The Additional Sessions Court Judge and Special Judge (POCSO LAW) Rajash Narayan Mania Tripathi also imposed a fine to the convicts on Friday (April 11, 2025).
According to the additional lawyer of the Government of the District (criminal) Manmohan Mishra, a complaint was filed on November 14, 2018 at the Kaudhiya Police Station by a man named Ramdayal, resident of the Ahiyachet village.
The allegation that his brother Rameswar Prasad and his nephew Ram Anuj were attacked with a dispute on a land while returning from their fields.
The defendant – Maniram (62) and his Mata Prasad (35); Rajesh Kumar (35) and Madhavraj (40), children of Ram Kailash; and Sanwali Prasad (70), son of Budhai, were all residents of the same village. Ramdayal said the defendant attacked his relatives with the intention of killing, he said.
Rameshwar Prasad succumbed to his wounds the same day at the District Hospital, while his nephew was seriously injured.

Duration The trial, Additional Sessions Judge and Special Judge (Pocso Law) Rajash Narayan Mania Tripathi reviewed the registered evidence, the testimonies of witnesses and the legal arguments of both parties. “Upon finding the five guilty defendants, the Court sentenced each of them to life imprisonment and imposed a fine of ₹ 29,500,” said the lawyer.
“The judge also ruled that, in case of lack of payment of the fine, each convict would comply 26 months of prison. The time has already been fulfilled in custody will be counted for his sentence,” he said.
