The Government of Tamil Nadu will explore the possibility of establishing thematic parks near Hogenakkal Falls in the Dharmapuri and Mukkombu district in the District of Touchi, in the public-private partnership mode, the Minister of Tourism announced Thursday.

The Government would also explore the viability of improving infrastructure for water sports in Manazpad and Mullakkadu in Thothukudi, Uvari Beach in Tirunelveli and Atangarai in Ramanthapuram with a public-private association, said the minister.

The Government would establish a Buddhist Cultural Center in Kancheepuram and a Jain Cultural Center in the district of Madurai recognizing the deep influence of Buddhism and Jainism in Tamil society, culture and literature, said the minister. The cultural impact of these interactions was still evident, he added. These centers would highlight their contributions in the history of Tamil Nadu.

The government would also develop tourist infrastructure in various parts of the State at a total cost of ₹ 100 million rupees. A detailed project report would be written to develop infrastructure to benefit tourists visiting the Nilgiris district.

The state government would explore the viability of operating a rope car to tourist areas in Yercaud and Yelagiri, said the minister.
