The Nagpur Bank of the Superior Court of Bombay on Thursday (April 17, 2025) issued a notice to the Prime Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, in a survey request that challenges his 2024 victory from the seat of the Assembly of Southwest Nagpur.
The request of the survey was presented in January by Prafulla Vinodrao Giudadhe of Congress, who lost to Mr. Fadnavis by a margin or 39,710 votes.
In the plea, Mr. Giudadhe alleged procedural failures and corrupt practices and sought that the Superior Court declared Mr. Fadnavis “win” null and null. “
Judge Pravin Patil Tok Up The Pleea for hearing in his camera on Thursday (April 17, 2025) and issued a notice to the defendant (Fadnavis).
“Judge Pravin Patil issued a citation (notice) to CM Fadnavis returned on May 8,” said Mr. Gudad Gudad, Pavan Dahat, PTI.
On the next date, the legal representative of the main minister will have to appear before the court and respond to the petition.
No mandatory provisions were followed during the surveys held in November last year, said the lawyers of Mr. Gudadhe Dahat and Ab Moon.
The Mahayuti swept the surveys of the Assembly, winning 230 seats in the Maharashtra Assembly of 288 members, after which Fadnavis became CM.
Meanwhile, the Superior Court also issued a citation (notices) to BJP Mla Mohan Mate by Nagpur West and Kirtikumar Bhangdia from Chimur’s seat in the Chandrapur district in similar electoral requests.
