Delhi Heatwave: A radical heat wave continued to grab the national capital on Tuesday with a maximum temperature violating the Celsius brand of 40 degrees for the second consecutive day.
According to the Department of Meteorology of India (IMD), two of the key weather stations of Delhi, Safdarjung and Ayanagar, recorded a maximum temperature of 41 degrees and 40.4 degrees, respectively, on Tuesday.

The IMD declares the heat wave when the maximum temperature reaches at least 40 degrees Celsius in the plains or 30 degrees Celsius in the mountainous regions, or when the output of normality is between 4.5 degrees Celsius and 6.4 degrees Celsius.
On Monday, the IMD had issued a yellow alert for Delhi during the next two days.
