The Hyderab Metropolitan Water (HMWS and SB) Swwerage Board, from its managing director to senior officials and the local line, took action on Tuesday to identify consumers resort to illegal water drawing using engines.

As part of the campaign on Tuesday, the Board together with its surveillance equipment confiscated 64 engines and 84 consumers were penalized for setting engines to domestic pipes to attract more water at high pressure. A maximum of 25 engines were seized and consumers penalized SR Nagar division.

The special impulse to stop the illegal use of engines is to avoid water waste and, in particular, to guarantee the equitable distribution of water in areas with low pressure water supply complaints due to the extensive use of engines.

The managing director K. Ashok Reddy was part of the inspections in Kakatiya Hills in Madhapur, where the teams seized engines. “Using an engine illegally to draw high pressure water is a crime. While some use thesis, others suffer from low pressure and supply. Consumers were penalized and engines were dizzy in the first instance, but the cases will.

Mr. Reddy also added that anyone suspects that the use of the illegal engine in his colony can inform the matter by marking 155313 for the IMEDIADA resolution.
