Bihar’s opposition leader, Texashwi Yadav, criticized the Government and the State Police on Saturday by the way in which the prohibition in Bihar is applied, qualifying a tool to harass poor people and dalits. Alleging that the law is being misused by the Bihar Police, the Rashriya Janata Dal, which leads to illegal extortion and smuggling.

The prohibition has been in force in Bihar since April 2016.

“On behalf of the Liquor Law, a parallel black market economy has been established worth ₹ 40,000 million rupees in Bihar. This amount can be equal to the income of the state government,” Yadav told journalists from the RJD office. “According to the law, more than 9.36 Lakh of cases have been presented so far, and more than 14.32 Lakh of people have arrested,” he said that most people arrested for violating the prohibition are Dalit, people of recoil and tribes.

His comments arrive at a time when the RJD has decided to celebrate large -scale celebrations of the anniversary of the Birth of Br Ambedkar on April 14, in each Panchayat de Bihar. The largest function is to organize in the constituency of the Raghopur Assembly represented by Mr. Yadav.

The RJD leader also pointed out observations on the prohibition of liquor made by the Supreme Court and the Superior Court of Patna. “The Supreme Court has said that liquor smuggling is happening due to the police and the only work that remains for the police is to protect those who give themselves to corruption, extortion and misuse of the law,” said Yadav.

The former vice minister of the main minister said that only 1% of those arrested under the law not of the Dalit class or back class communities, despite the high consumption of corrupt rich people who drink foreign manufacturing liquor.

“Until now, around 3.86 million liters of liquor have seized their legs, of which more than 2.1 million liters are foreign liquor and approximately 1 crore liters are liquor in the country. It shows that the consumption of foreign liquor is high in Bihar. Foreign liquor,” he said, citing official data.

There is no action against suppliers

Mr. Yadav also pointed out that despite the trial of Lakhs of people, suppliers and smugglers have not arrested the legs, and no action has bone tasks against the senior police officers in Bihar. He asked Prime Minister Niten Kumar why no action is being tasks against those who supply liquor from all state borders and take it to Patna and other districts.

The RJD leader claimed that the selective action is to be tasks, only against those to whom the Government chooses to chase.

When attacking the Bihar CM, Mr. Yadav said: “Those who talk about the situation before 2005 should say why the officials who have been given the work do not work so that the campaign of liquor prohibition is successful. Measures against those corrections must be taken.”
