In a first, the Indian Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) has developed a laser -based weapons system that can neutralize fixed -wing aircraft, missiles and swarm drones, marking a great milestone in the country’s technology.
A team of Drdo officials tested the new directed energy weapon (Rocío) based in a laser of 30 kilowatts in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh, with positive results. With this technology, India has joined the list of elite countries such as the United States, China and Russia that have advanced laser weapons capabilities.
The MK-II Rocío System (A) designed and developed indigenous was demonstrated throughout its capacity spectrum by activating the fixed long-term gifts, frustrating an attack of multiple drones and destroying enemy sensors and antennas.

This weapons system is now ready for production and deployment on several military platforms, according to reports. The DRD is also working on other high energy systems such as microwave and electromagnetic pulses to achieve “Star Wars” defense capabilities.
