Recent rates of the United States have “focused our minds on the need to correct a certain biased nature of our opening to the global economy,” said Minister of External Affairs, S. Jaishankar, on Friday (April 11, 2025), asking for growing associations.
“Many of us have argued that our complementary partners are in the West, where real growth is possible, where they are open, with market economies, contractual foundations and are much more competitive than the economies of our east,” added Mr. Jaishankar.

“I would argue that we have an opportunity today … if we can focus on these three big [free trade agreement] Negotiations, with the United States, the European Union and the United Kingdom, if they work for us this year, we would be in a different situation. “Mr. Jaishankar was the Annual Global Technology Summit of India.

In Bi and Multilateral collaboration frames such as the initiative of the United States and India on critical and emerging technology (Icet), Mr. Jaishankar said that domestic monitoring was important. “My verification of reality about associations would be that you must move the regulatory system and the true economy with each other,” he said.
“Or we would have discussions, but if they were not followed through projects, the discussions of that time do not have the seriousness that the other part would have given,” he added.

Answering a question about whether the Make America Great Again movement was in tension with Indian self -sufficiency, Mr. Jaishankar said: “I do not see a contradiction because whatever is the objective of the leg on the direction of the world would have the lines of trend; this did not come out of nowhere.”
Pointing out developments such as Brexit and other rejections of globalization, he said: “There was a different description construction under this complacency of globalization”, and that a moment in India, “there was a deep anger because of the type of spill [of goods at low cost] That takes place and the impact found on small and medium enterprises. ”
