India sees “urgency” in finalising US, UK, EU trade pacts: S. Jaishankar

Recent rates of the United States have “focused our minds on the need to correct a certain biased nature of our opening to the global economy,” said Minister of External Affairs, S. Jaishankar, on Friday (April 11, 2025), asking for growing associations.

“Many of us have argued that our complementary partners are in the West, where real growth is possible, where they are open, with market economies, contractual foundations and are much more competitive than the economies of our east,” added Mr. Jaishankar.

“I would argue that we have an opportunity today … if we can focus on these three big [free trade agreement] Negotiations, with the United States, the European Union and the United Kingdom, if they work for us this year, we would be in a different situation. “Mr. Jaishankar was the Annual Global Technology Summit of India.

Advanced pacts

Pointing out developments such as Brexit and other rejections of globalization, he said: “There was a different description construction under this complacency of globalization”, and that a moment in India, “there was a deep anger because of the type of spill [of goods at low cost] That takes place and the impact found on small and medium enterprises. ”
