Police have registered a case against an IPS officer of 30 years to allegedly violate a doctor at the Nagpur de Maharashtra after promising marrying her, authorities said Sunday.
The 28 -year -old woman approached the Imamwada Police Station in Nagpur with a complaint on Friday, they said.
According to the plaintiff, she and the man contacted the Instagram social networks platform in November 2022, an official said.
Then, the defendant was preparing for the exams of the Public Service Commission of the Union (UPSC), while the woman was following the MBBS course, police said.
His online conversations soon became telephone calls. After they became friends, the defendant promised to marry the woman and entered a physical relationship with her, police said.
After being selected for the Indian Police Service (IPS), the defendant began to avoid the woman and refused to marry her, said the official.
The man’s family also did not respond to the woman, because she was upset and approached the Imamwada police with the complaint, police said.
According to his complaint, a case was recorded for violation charges against the IPS officer on Saturday and additional investigation was being carried out, they said.
