On Friday, the leader of the BJP and former mayor of Karimnagar, Y. Sunil Rao, sought detailed investigation into the alleged financial irregularities and the lower quality of the works in the development project of the Manair River in Loer Manair Dam (LMD) in Karimnagar.

The allegation that the defective designs of the various components of the project and poor work on the protection walls on both flanks of the Manair River under the LMD represented a threat to the ecosystem of the Manair River bed.

The proponents of the project organized a foreign tour under the pretext of a study tour to establish a world class water source in the river in the past, he said.
He said: “Detailed investigation on irregularities in the River Front Development Project must be ordered and also in the lower quality of the work on the cable bridge built Achross the Manair River to ₹ 224 million rupees.
