The state government has granted administrative sanction for land acquisition for the proposed airport in Erumely.

The order, in accordance with the sources, allows the government to process with the acquisition of land in accordance with the Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Rease (Larr), 2013 Law.

It establishes that the Government, as the expert committee suggested, must consider the possibility of offering a special package by appointing an administrator for land acquisition under the Larr Law.

The new order was issued after consulting the Social Impact Assessment Report, the recommendations of an expert committee based on the SIA report and the district collector’s report in this regard. In the report, the district collector, the Earth will be acquired by virtue of section 7 (5) of the Larr Law.

This is the second time that the government is going through the process of acquiring the country, since the previous notifications for both the SIA and the land were revoked by the Government follow objects of the Ayana residential (previously Gospel for Asia.

According to the new order, a total of 1,039,876 ha (2,570 acres) or land in the villages of Erumely South and Manimala for the airport project can be acquired. This includes the 2,263 acre and 307 acre farvally farm located outside the farm.

In the next step, the Government will issue a notification for the acquisition of land under section 11 (1) of the Larr Law, which is the preliminary notification for the acquisition of countries. Subsequently, the Government will begin the Official Survey of the Earth in Section 12 and will prepare a file of the precise extension of the Earth that will be acquired along with its survey number. It will be followed by a declaration of the rehabilitation and resettlement package (RR), as described in section 19 (1) of the Larr Law.
