Madhya Pradesh Prime Minister Mohan Yadav, on Saturday (April 11, 2025) announced a new scheme to boost the production of the state’s milk and said that the scheme will be named Dr. Br Ambedkar and launched on April 14 to commemorate its 134th anniversary of birth.
Mr. Yadav said that the scheme was aimed at bringing MP to the first position from its current third place after Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.
“Madhya Pradesh’s contribution to national milk production is about nine percent. Our government has decided to increase to 20 percent through cattle conservation. We are launching a new scheme taken after April 14, ATCASCEMAR, Hoim. Increases the milk production capacity and the income of farmers,” he told Indore journalists.
The main minister made the announcement after placing the stone of the Foundation for the Municipal Corporations of Indore ‘Kamdhenu Goushala’ in the Aldea de Ashapura, near Mhow, the birthplace of Br Ambedkar. The cows shelter will be built in an area or 25 hectares with the ability to maintain more than 10,000 cows.
Mr. Yadav said that refuge facilities with similar capacity are being built throughout the state, especially in civic cities and bodies such as Jabalpur, Indore, Ujjain and Bhopal for lost cows and wounds.
“They already have bone constructions in some places,” he said, linking the initiative with efforts to increase milk production capacity.
