Supposedly annoyed by his wife’s harassment, a 26 -year -old software engineer tried to set fire in front or Raj Bhavan on Sunday night.
The defendant, identified as Zubair, a Hebbal resident, was arrested by security personnel and delivered to the Vidhana Soudha jurisdictional police for new actions.
According to the police, the incident occurred around 4.30 pm on Sunday. Zubair poured gas on himself at the entrance of the Raj Bhavan in an attempt to immolition. The security staff, who was present at the scene, immediately threw water on Zubair and then stopped him.
Zubair told the police that he was discouraged since his wife had presented a case of harassment against him in Chickabalpur and also assaulted him. In addition, he said the police refused to present a assault case against his wife.
Vidhana Soudha police advised and summoned his parents for investigation. It was reserved for public discomfort.
