A district court here condemned a man to five years in prison and imposed a fine of ₹ 5000 in him in relation to a case of robbery.
A press release here declared that the accused Mallappa broke into a house belonging to Chandrashekar located in the Siddhshwar neighborhood last December 22 and left with five grams of gold ornaments, 30 grams of silver ornaments and 000 in cash.
A team led by the then assistant police commissioner of the suburban subdivision, Geeta Benal, thoroughly investigated the case and arrested Mallappa and recovered the stolen and effective ornaments of him. The University Police presented a sheet of charges in the Court.
Third Additional First Class Judicial Magistrate DastgirSab Abdul Razak Mulla convicted and sentenced to Mallappa to five years in prison and gave a fine of ₹ 5,000 on him.
The public prosecutor Shivashaeppa argued on behalf of the Prosecutor’s Office.
