The court said the defendant had a clear reason, having opposed the relationship and previously issued threats

The Superior Court of Allahabad recently confirmed life imprisonment for seven members of a family convicted of the brutal murders of a teenage couple in Merut, supposedly for having a romantic relationship that challenged family expectations.
Delivering his trial in the Chamber on April 7, 2025, a division bank that includes Judges Siddharth and Praveen Kumar Giri dismissed the appeals presented by Ibrahim and their co-awarded their six children-disagreements remakeed for the show and the beloved Soni of 16 years.
The Court indicated that the conclusions of the Court of First Instance were based on detailed medical evidence, testimony of eyewitnesses and investigation reports, which clearly indicated a calculated avengular law committed within the limits of the accused house.
The murders took place on the night of February 5, 2006, and were supposedly motivated by the discovery of an intimate relationship between Soni and Sharafat, neighbors in a Mereut village.
According to the Prosecutor’s Office, the couple was forced tasks within the defendant’s house and then found dead. Sharafat’s body had multiple injuries (broken ribs, lacerated lungs and bruises, while Soni had signs of ashíxiation and fractured hyoid bones, which indicates strangulation. The autopsy confirmed that it had been hanged and attacked before death.
The case, registered in sections 147, 302 read with 149 of the CPI, votes from a first information report presented by Brother Raees Ahmad de Sharafat (the informant). The allegation that Ibrahim’s family had previously warned him to send Sharafat away, citing his “illegal” relationship with Soni, Ibrahim’s daughter. When the proposal of their marriage extended by the informant was rejected, the tensions increased.
On the night of the incident, eight assailants, any person with weapons, sticks and axes, supposedly assaulted the house of the informant, dragged Sharafat and assaulted him and Soni. Later, their bodies were discovered inside Ibrahim’s house. The remarkable and ocular artificial light cited the artificial light of gas lamps and torches as a duration of visibility, the night attack.
Although the witnesses of the key prosecutor initially supported the case, later he became hostile after charges were added under sections 504 and 506 and a Novo trial was fueled. However, the court refused to rule out his previous statements and corroborated evidence, ruling that the registered material was sufficient for the conviction.
“A law is established that a man can say a lie, but the circumstances cannot. Only the witnesses who then delivered hostile have admitted that both the deceased person was killed,” the court observed. He stressed that the hostile witnesses deposited that some unknown people had killed the couple, they did not attribute any reason for such an act. The recurring, however, had enough reasons or “dishonors.”
