India explained on Thursday his position on the suspension of the installation of transford to Bangladesh, with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) stating that the measure was promoted by logistics contradiats and at the same time urge journalists to meet in action.
In the information session of the weekly press, the spokesman for the MEA, Randhir Jaiswal, said the decision voted for the growing congestion in the Indian ports and airports.
“With regard to commercial problems with respect to the transhipment installation, we had tasks that measured due to the congestion in our ports and airports,” he said. “I must remind you that please look at the actions that Bangladesh has tasks before this.”
A transfording installation refers to a process in which the goods or load are transferred from a ship, vehicle or transport fashion to another in a port or center before being to its final destination.
People aware of the developments, who spoke CNN-NEWS18He pointed out three decisions of Dhaka that may have contributed to the current state of the Transbydoz installation.
First, Bangladesh stopped the importation of wire of India through land ports, citing cost disparities, said the aforementioned people. The measure caused strong criticisms of Bangladesh’s clothing exporters, who described the “suicidal” decision for the Readymadas garments (MRI).
India introduced the Transhipment Center for Bangladesh in 2020, allowing Bangladesh exporters to use Indian land customs stations (LCSS) to transport goods to third countries such as Bután, Nepal and Myanmar. The initiative was designed to simplify commercial processes, reduce logistics expenses and support the Bangladesh Ready garments sector (RMG) through time and transit costs.
The decision followed a visit from Prof. Dr. Yunus, main advisor to the interim government of Bangladesh, to Beijing, where he made controversial statements. He bequeathed the legislation for stronger Chinese commercial relations with the northeast of India and suggested the use of Bangladesh ports in the process.
The aforementioned people also pointed out the second action of the Bangladesh government, which implied the appointment of a panel that, citing financial and inactivity losses, recommended the complete closure of three lands on the border between India-Bangladesh. The same panel also suggested suspending operations in another key port.
Thirdly, Benapole Customs House, which is one of Bangladesh’s most busy land ports, has formed a dedicated research and management unit to increase the supervision and application of income, which leads to a more strict regulation throughout the commercial corridor.
