The former Prime Minister of Jammu and Cashmira and the president of the Democratic Party of the Peoples (PDP), Mehbooba Mufti, on Wednesday (April 16, 2025) expressed a group on violence in the city of Murshidabad in West Bengala on the draft law of the WAQF amendment.
“Deeply disturbed by the tragic violence in Murshidabad on the bill of the WAQF amendment, where innocent lives were lost. It is part of the fact that despite the security of Mamata Di that Bill would not be implemented in the protests of Western Bengal,” Mufti said in a publication on the social media platform X.
She said as a community that we must channel our energy constructively to maintain our constitutional rights through a peaceful and legal average.
“We must avoid actions that can weaken our allies to support us a great personal and political cost. We must remain united and vigilant and not allow communal forces to exploit the thesis to boost their divisive agenda or promote,” said Msempodering Mufti.
