The Western Bengal Minister and the leader of the Trinamool Congress of Trinamool, Firm Hakim, sought to minimize the violent protests for the WAQF law (amendment) in Murshidabad, where hundreds were forced to flee their homes for security saying that they got completely.

The Western Bengal BJP unit said that more than “400 Hindus” were forced to flee their homes in the Dhulian district in the city of Murshidabad after the violence directed against them.

“People are moving within Bengal, not fleeing from the State. The administration is taking all possible measures to restore normality. Violence is unfortunate and the police are working to identify those responsible,” said Minister of CM Mamata Banerjee.

“There was a much bigger incident that happened in Gujarat. Just after such an episode in Gujarat, the administration coined absolute silence,” Hakim added.
