Mizoram, in the Northeast hills, had a big day. Prime Minister Narendra Modi opened the state’s first railway line and started Mizoram’s first Rajdhani Express, which makes it easier to get between Aizawl and New Delhi. The day’s slogan—“Ab Dilli Door Nahi”—showed how Mizoram is now closer to the capital. More than just trains, this shows Mizoram is included, which means growth and a stronger feeling of being part of India.

Mizoram has been one of the few states with little railway access for years. People usually traveled by road, which was hard because of hills, landslides, and long trips. Flying was too expensive for most. So, starting the railway line from Sairang in Mizoram to Bairabi in Assam is very important. This lets the people of Mizoram feel truly linked to the rest of the country. As the Prime Minister arrived in Mizoram, the atmosphere was electric. Crowds lined the streets, waving flags and chanting slogans. Children from local schools held up placards reading, “Welcome Modi Ji” and “Proud Moment for Mizoram.” The emotion was palpable—this was more than a political event; it was a heartfelt celebration of identity, unity, and progress.

At the inauguration, Prime Minister Modi mentioned that these projects aren’t just about building railways; they’re about boosting growth, trust, and bringing people together. The new Rajdhani Express is set to change how people in Mizoram travel. Now, folks from Aizawl and nearby areas can hop on a direct train to New Delhi for the first time. The Rajdhani has modern features, like air-conditioned cars and better safety, so it’s more comfy and easier than traveling by road or plane. What’s really great is that it cuts down travel time a lot, which makes it simpler for students, workers, and families to get to Delhi and other places. Mizoram was thrilled.  A lot of people couldn’t believe it was really happening. Lalhmingthanga, a retired teacher from a close village, said they’ve always felt disconnected from Delhi and the rest of India. Now, they feel closer and like Delhi will finally pay attention. Rebecca, a student who plans to attend Delhi University, thinks the train will change things.

Tourism should get a boost. Mizoram’s awesome scenery, green hills, and special culture draw tourists, but it’s been tough to get to. Now with the new railway and Rajdhani link, it’ll be simpler for visitors to reach Mizoram. This could mean more jobs, better business for local hotels and restaurants, and a better economy for the region.

The railway line matters for national security too. Mizoram borders Myanmar and Bangladesh, so it’s key for India’s Act East Policy. Better transport means better teamwork with India, plus stronger trade and relationships with nearby countries. This project helps the region grow and helps India link up with its eastern neighbors.

The celebration wasn’t just at the opening. People all over Aizawl lit candles, got together, and talked about their hopes for the future. Last night, the Rajdhani Express left Aizawl for New Delhi with passengers full of expectation. More than just a way to travel, this train links Mizoram and Delhi. As it departed, a college student mentioned that Delhi feels closer now.

This isn’t just about the railway line or the Rajdhani Express; it’s about moving forward, and everyone’s excited for what’s coming. It’s a fresh start for Mizoram, offering opportunities for unity and growth.
