A group of people allegedly hit a priest and the strength entered a temple in Dewas by Madhya Pradesh on Friday, PTI reported. According to the reports, the incident occurred when people tried to enter the temple after it closed at night. When the priest did not allow them an entry, they hit him.

According to the Superintendent of the city or the Donsh Agrawal Police, a complaint has been filed based on the complaint filed by the priest of the Kotwali Police Station. In his complaint, the priest claimed that Jitu Raguvanshi, who has previous criminal records, arrived at the temple on Friday night with several other people in eight to ten cars.

They allegedly asked the priest to open the doors and allow them to enter the temple. The priest, however, denied the entrance, which led them to hit him and abuse him.

The officials have filed a complaint and are reviewing the CCTV cameras in the nearby.
