An Indian Army team of the Myanmar Parachute Field Hospital in Myanmar will receive the accreditation of the emergency medical team (EMT) from the World Health Organization (EMT). The 118 members has been deployed under the Brahma operation to help Myanmar after an devastating earthquake. The team has previously been committed by its exceptional service in global crises, including 2023 earthquakes in Türkiye and Syria.
“The WHO visited our facilities and began the accreditation process to recognize ourselves as an international medical team, first historical for India. Beyond clinical care, we have served as a distribution center for help materials and we are involved in the Public Health Coordination with Medical Universities in Myanmar,” said LT Jagnaet Gill, an officer in command of the hospital.
