New high-level bridge across Cheyyar river in Tiruvannamalai opened

A new high-level bridge through Cheyyar, a tributary of then Pennai, in Chengam-Polur High Road in the throat Thamaripakkam Village, near Kalasapakam in Tiruvannamalai, opened on Friday, finishing a demand for long-standing waste.

The officials of the state roads, who built the new installation, said the new bridge has been built between the throat Thamaripakkam and then the villages of Mahadeva Mangalam. Currently, similar bridges on the other side of the river are notable in the villages of Kalasapakkam and Kanki. Residents have to travel to these bridges to reach large cities such as Polur, Arani, Chengam and Tiruvannamalai.

Financed by Nabard under the scheme of the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) -28 by 2022-23, the bridge of 115.05 million rupees is 182.80 meters long and 12 meters wide so that two buses use it at the same time. “Around a resident Lakh, including farmers and merchants along the river, will benefit from the new bridge, since they can reach other places much faster. School students can pedal their way to the closest schools on the other side of the river,” t. Before the new bridge, residents have to transport sick people through water to the waist in the summer of the river to the primary health care center (PHC) in Kalasapakkam. As there were no bus service to these villages due to the lack of bridges before, travelers, including students and office attendees, have to travel long distances to the closest bus stops.

Highway officials said that 272.50 approximation roads have been placed between the new bridge and Chengam-Polur High Road to allow motorists to better connectivity to nearby cities.
