The Interior Minister of the Union, Amit Shah, blamed the Congress and the parties of the INDI block for violence that converted protests against the citizenship amendment law in 2019 and said that no Muslim lost his citizenship under the law.

Shah’s comments occurred amid the concerns about protests against the WAQF amendment law in parts of the country.

“Rahul Gandhi and the opposition spread through the country that Muslims will lose their citizenship due to CAA. He has been in force for two years.

When asked if he fears Caa’s protests this time, Shah said: “They (opposition) must have understood something now.”

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court also agreed to hear requests that challenge the law on April 15.

Shah said that only some leaders in the Muslim community are protesting against the new law. He added that the minority, women and the poor, within the minority community are being empowered, but Congress is protesting in the legislet.
