Week after the main advisor of the interim government of Bangladesh, Muhammad Yunus, referred to the northeast region of India as “without coastline”, the Minister of External Affairs, S. Jaishankar, on Wednesday (April 16, 2025) highlighted the region as AA A. TO.

In a virtual speech for the meeting of the ambassadors of the Northeast Investor Summit 2025, Mr. Jaishankar spoke about the potential of the region and encouraged investors to take advantage of what the region has to sacrifice.

“The Northeast region is in the heart of many key Indian policies: it could be the” neighborhood “first, acting east or BimStec. The northeast contains five of our neighbors on land. Its limits are the Indian subcontinentines. The immediate neighbors emanate from this region,” said Mr. Jaischar.

The comments of the Minister of External Affairs arrive fifteen days after Mr. Yunus created controversy when referring to the Landastern region as a territory “without a coast” that could be an “extension” or the Chinese market. The Ministry of External Affairs had not responded official, although India finished the freight transford from Bangladesh through the Earth and the airports citing “consumption” after the comments.

“He highlighted the growing relevance of Northeast, as an entrance door to Southeast Asia, a tourism center and a taxpayer to the world workplace,” said Mr. Jaishankar in a comment on X.

“We are looking to address the Long Data challenges, some who emanate from our past history,” said Jaishankar, highlighting the ‘Purvodaya’ scheme of the Indian government that described as an “effort in that regard.” Jaishankar also said that the government had highlighted the tourist potential of the northeast duration of the period prior to the 2023 G-20 summit in Delhi when some of the preparatory meetings had a leg hero there.

He also talked about the trilateral road that aims to connect India and Thailand through Myanmar and the Kaladan multimodal traffic transport project (KMTTP) that was conceived to connect the Northantern region with the port of Myanmar Sittwe. “In every way, a center whose relevance will grow over time,” said Mr. Jaischar.
