Nurturing value-based education for over 100 years

Shri Sanatana Dharma Vidyalaya, located in the heart of Chennai, has remained a symbol of education based on cultural value and preservation for more than a century. Established in 1919 with only 11 students, it has a historical meaning when the first Hindi-Medium primary school in the city began for the Marwari community. The base was placed by Mahopadhyaya Vyakaranacharya Pandit Goldharji Sharma Chaturvedi, along with Krishna Choubey and Gangovisanji Triveedi customers.

The SSDV association, which governs the school, has four units that work under its wing.

Updated in 1993

It was updated as a Higher Secondary School of Enrollment in 1993. Since then, it has worked as a girls’ school, which serves the students of class VI to class XII. Today, the school has a strength of 494 girls for academic year 2024-25 and employment 26 teachers, including three members of non-teaching staff. Despite being a private school surrounded by government -attending institutions, SSDV continues to prosper due to the quality of education and the care it offers.

“We are constantly working to create space where girls not only learn academic but grow in spirit and trust,” says Director S. Latha. “The only reason we can maintain school is the quality we provide.” She adds: “Our vision is a holistic development: we want our children to be advanced spiritual and technological and technological, not only academically strong. Management and staff work together to make children shine.”

With a strong belief that education is the basis of knowledge and success, the school expects people who are safe, value oriented and equipped with life skills. SSDV aims to guarantee complete-development-physical, emotional, intellectual, moral, spiritual and technological development. The school injects discipline, compassion and excellence in students to allow the issue to contribute significantly to society.

The motto, Tamasoma jyothirgamaya (From darkness to light), and the guiding principle, “learn, love, serve and sacrifice”, reflect their dedication to promotion responsibilities and empowered young women. SSDV provides an open inclusive education system with a positive and affectionate environment often described by students and parents as a second home.

Learning doing

The teaching approach goes beyond textbooks. Students are introduced into technology through audiovisual learning and based on activities, promotion of learning philosophy. In a forward movement, the school, the introduction of artificial intelligence classes is. Faculty members are well qualified and deeply committed. Students who need more help are identified early and support with personalized training throughout the year to ensure that each child is ready for the exam. SSDV’s philosophy is based on the belief that education leads to human development by extracting the best of body, mind and spirit.
