The collector MN Harendhira Prasad has asked interested officials to prepare a special action plan for the improvement of Rushikonda and Sagar Nagar beaches.

Rushikonda Beach can be equipped with additional comforts and a tourist information center. Sign boards for the comfort of tourists should be erected, he said at a meeting with the representatives of the Beach Administration Committee on Thorsday Day after an inspection of the ‘Blue Flag’ beach in Rushikonda.

He said that working on the ‘Blue Flag’ should be trained. He suggested to the officials to relive the Marine Surveillance Tower in Rushikonda, the construction of steps, the provision of light, the bathrooms, the elimination of arcons, rationalization of the water supply and the completion of the pending works.

He suggested that Sagar Nagar Beach should develop in the Rushikonda Beach lines.

Mr. Harendhira Prasad asked the interested officials to make sure the beaches were clean and more vegetation were developed.

The suggested classification of the ‘Complaints Box’ in Rushikonda as a box of ‘suggestions and opinions’. A joint for the gray water treatment plant must be presented and a special record is opened to register incidents that occur on the beach.

Regional Tourism Director Jagadesh, Tourism Officer of the Sudhasagar District, and GVMC officials, Tourism, VMRDA, Pollution Control Board, EPDCL, Fisheries, Income and Police Departments attended the meeting.
