Thirty -six people, including government employees, have been arrested in the first three months of the year as part of the operation trap of the Office of Surveillance and Anti -Corruption (VACB), said Prime Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.

At a press conference here on Wednesday, the main minister said that this was the first time in the history of VACB that a large number of judgments had been issued in three months of Trap Spot, launched to address corruption between government departure.

Mr. Vijayan said that 25 cases had been registered in January, nine in February and eight in March. Fourteen people had been with their hands only in March. Nine trial had been held in January and February 13. Fourteen were income officials; Four each was from the local departments of self -government and police; Two of the forest department; One in the Kerala Water Authority, Motor Vehicle Department and Registration Departments; and one from Indian Oil Corporation. Four agents and another four who took bribes alleging that it was for government officials were also arrested by the vacb. They include a trial for recurring refund as a digital transaction and another to obtain a bottle of liquor.

Complainants

Corruption among government employees that should work for the welfare of the public was a great concern. As part of Operation Stop Trap, a network of complainants had been developed in all offices, the Ting bribes were monitored and the public was encouraged to file complaints against bribe applicants, said Prime Minister.

He stressed the need to raise corruption to make the State a friendly commercial and investor. End corruption in government was the government’s policy. Finding sources of corruption in government, quasi government and public sector companies and eradicating them was an important objective. The policy of ‘zero corruption tolerance’ was implemented in this regard, said Vijayan.
