Karnataka is fourth in terms of organ commitment in the country, according to the data of the National Organization and Tissue Transplant Organization (Notary).
As or April 17, while Karnataka has registered 35,920 promises so far, Maharashtra has the highest with 50,886 records. Rajasthan and Gujarat continue with 43,376 and 36,550 records.
Among the districts, Dharwad has registered the largest number of promises with 8,196 records so far. Dharwad is followed by Ballari (8,095). These two districts have registered the second and third highest promises in the country after Ahmedabad, which has registered the highest in 29,763 promises.
Higher youth registrations
The highest promise has been recorded in the age group of 30-45 years with 16,045 people in this age group promising its organists. This is followed by those in the age group of 18-30 years with 8,423 records.
Women have surpassed people in organ commitment, with 18,655 of the total of 35,920 records for women, according to the data.
QR code
To commit to organ donation in Karnataka, people can use the Noto QR code, which is linked to the State Health Department initiative to simplify the process. This QR code that was launched in 2023 can be found on the Notto or Jeevasarhakathe websites, the State and Tisos Transplant Organization of the State (Sotto), the Nodal Agency that facilitates corpses organizations.
Rajani M., State Joint Director (Medical), said the body increased after the introduction of the QR code and a campaign launched by the Ministry of Health of the Union last year to encourage understanding.
“People can use the QR code reader on their smartphones or other devices to scan the code and complete the commitment form. Organ donations
