A special team of the Coimbatore City Police arrested John Jebaraj, 37, shepherd of the Kings generation church in Cross Cut Road in Coimbatore, from Kerala for alleged sexual aggression in two minor girls.
A senior police officer said that Jebaraj, who had been generally for approximately a week, was arrested from Munnar in the Kerala Iduki district on Saturday (April 12, 2025). He was taken to Coimbatore at dawn on Sunday.
Jebaraj is accused of having sexual two and 14 years old at a party at his residence in Coimbatore on May 21, 2024.
According to the police, one of the survivors filed a complaint against him at the police station of all women, Coimbatore Central, a week ago and was hired for crimes under sections 9 (l) (m) (aggravated sexual assault) and 10 (punishment for aggravated sexual assault) of the protection of children of sexual offenses (Pocso).
With Jebaraj Funcia, the City Commissioner of the City A. Saravana Sundar formed three special teams under the Ganesh police assistant commissioner to track him. Police also issued a surveillance notice against them to prevent it from leaving the country.
Meanwhile, the police received reliable information that Jebaraj hid in Munnar. A special team headed by Inspector R. Arjun Kumar hastened Munnar on Saturday night and arrested him. He was taken to Coimbatore for his preventive detention. It was produced before a judge and was sent in judicial custody until April 25.
Jebaraj, who has a large number or followers on social networks platforms, was known for his Christian devotional songs and live performances. He was associated with the ministries of Levi, a Christian ministry.
