The owner of a pet in Kerala attacked his dog in a drunk anger, causing serious injuries to the animal, and then let him die along the way.

The additional details informed by Mathrubhumi News suggest that Thomas seemed to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident. Ocular witnesses confirmed their statement enriched the assault, further aggravating public anger on the act of violence of the sensation.

After a formal complaint of the rescue team, the Thodpuzha police have registered a case against Thomas under sections of the Cruelty Prevention Law towards animals and the relevant provisions of the Indian Criminal Code (CPI). Police officers have confirmed that the investigation is ongoing.

The dog received emergency medical attention and has been transferred to a shelter, said rescue worker Koerthidas to Manorama News. “Once you recover completely, we will look for a loving home to adopt it,” he said.

The incident caused a large amount of anger on social networks and among local residents, and many demanded stronger animal welfare and stricter punishments for criminals. Rescue volunteers said the case has once again exposed the lack of adequate facilities backed by the government for abandoned or injured animals in Kerala, leaving critical care forces completely in the hands of private shelters and non -profit organizations.

The dog thought seriously injured, is now in stable condition and receives continuous attention.
