Police launched an investigation into a sudden increase in the demand for syringes after alerts of medical store owners in the Kozhikode district. Police suspect that drug pushers are behind the purchase of large -scale syringes.

Recently, the police caught a migrant worker involved in interstate drug trafficking after tracking a gang that bought bulk syringes in a medical store in the city. He was arrested after the store’s store alerted the police about bulk purchase.

Police said they had sought the cooperation of medical store owners to monitor people who buy medications or tranquilizer syringes in large quantities. “They thought that sedative medications are sold only with a doctor’s recipe, according to reports, some people are mistreating Ethers’s recipes to buy these medications in stores,” they added.

The monitoring of syringes sales began recently, ”said a police officer of the anti-Narcotic team in the city of Kozhikode. He added that the step was tasks in response to the growing concerns about his possible misuse in substance abuse.

Meanwhile, some owners of medical stores in the city said they had been closely monitoring the sale of tranquilizing medications after the instructions of the Department of Health and the agencies of application of the law. “Psychotropic drugs are sold only with a recipe, which is verified several times to obtain authenticity,” they added.

Police said that wholesale medical suppliers in neighboring states did not completely follow government guidelines to distribute psychotropic drugs. This supervision has allowed drug pushers from some states to obtain large amounts of these medications for illegal sale in Kerala aimed at school and university students, they added.
