The president of TPCC, Mahsh Kumar Gold, said that the opposition leader in Lok Sabha and the Rahul Gandhi Congress is being attacked by a section of the media to please Prime Minister Narendra Modi, forgetting that he never longed for power but only social justice.

Going to a press conference here on Sunday, Mr. Gold Tok exceptions to the criticism of Mr. Gandhi and described it as unnecessary when he raised the issue of social justice throughout the country, which led to a debate.

He said that the Gandhi family, since the days of Jawaharlal Nehru, worked for the country. If Nehru builds modern India, Indira Gandhi focused on getting the poor from poverty. Rajiv Gandhi introduced the IT revolution in the country giving more power to young people.

Mr. Gandhi continues that tradition where national interests are above personal interests. If Mr. Gandhi would have wanted to become the prime minister, he could have easily made the duration of the UPA regime, he said.
