The Government of Tamil Nadu must regulate the increase in the prices of the M band and open additional sand quarries to relieve the shortage of construction material, said Pon Kumar, president of the Welfare Board of Construction Workers and President of the Coalition of the Construction Industry and Real Incursions (Creic).
In statements to the persons of the media after the meeting of the Executive Committee of the State of the Coalition of the Construction Industry and Real Inceses (Creic) in Tiruchi, Mr. Kumar said that the restrictions on the sand mining of the river had led to the shortage and increase in prices. “The Government should open quarries in viable areas and regulate the prices of the band M, which has become disabled,” he said and added that a formal request would be submitted to the principal minister.
He said that the Welfare Board of Construction Workers had disbursed ₹ 1,672 million rupees in benefits, and records increased significantly, from 13 Lakh in 2021 to 26 Lakh today.
Mr. Kumar added that a new initiative would soon provide medical identity cards to registered workers, allowing a regular health check and access to treatment.
