RJD MLA Ritlal Yadav, who was sought by the Bihar police in relation to an extortion case, delivered before a court on Thursday (April 17, 2025), said a superior officer.

Talking with PTI, The Superintendent or Patna-West Police, Sharat RS, confirmed that Mr. Yadav surrendered to the Danapur court in Patna, and declared that other procedures are being carried out.

“He and his associates were sought in an extortion case,” said the sp.

He said more details will be shared later.

The Bihar Police had made 11 searches in several places related to the RJDS Danapur MLA and its nearby associates as part of their investigation into a case of extortion in Patna.

Police had made searches in 11 places in Danapur and other locations in the state capital after registering a FIR against Yadav and another five for the basic complaint filed by a Patna -based builder.

“The plaintiff (builder) claimed that he was receiving extortion and life calls from life during the last days. There were also accusations that the defendant forged certain documents related to a property.

“The plaintiff was building an apartment in the Patna Khagaul area. Duration of searches, the police police of various incriminatory documents and materials, including RS 10 Lakh in cash, RS 77 Lakh checks, six blank checks and Patna police had said on April 11.

All the defendants escaped when searches were made on Patna on April 11.
