The last offer of Aadyam Theater, Saanp SeedhiThe public of Bengaluru promises and the experience on the edge of the seat. Adapted from the psychological thriller winning Tony Award from Anthony Shaffer StuckThe Hindi work is directed by Shubhrajyoti Barat and stars Kumud Mishra and Sumeet Vyas. After a successful race in Delhi, it is scheduled to play in Ranga Shankara on May 9 and 10.
In your heart, Saanp Seedhi It is a lethal manipulation and deception game between two men: an extravagant film producer, Anil Wadhwa (played by Kumud), and his wife’s lover, Mayan Tiwari (Sumeet). Located in the context of Anil’s extensive and slightly surreal home in Goa, which begins as a seemingly civil confrontation soon becomes a dangerous psychological battle where nothing is what it seems.
For director Shubhrajyoti, Stuck It was a work that had lived without rent in his mind for years. “As a director or any person involved in the theater, there are always works to which it goes back,” he says. “When Aadyam gave me the platform, he felt the perfect time to give him life, especially with actors like Kumud and Sumeet on board.”

But Shubhrajyoti was clear from the beginning that he did not want a mere translation; I wanted an adaptation that felt rooted in the Indian soil. Collaborating with the playwright Akarsh Khurana, the team reinvented the aristocratic British world of Shaffer that entered India more collected. “Instead of the mystery novelist of the original, Anil is now a grade B film producer who has climbed the stairs. This adds complexity to his letter, a man made to himself whose ego and insecurity develop fascinatingly,” he explains.
Visually too, Saanp Seedhi Try to experiment. The set, says Shubhrajyoti, is designed with a backdrop of the sky and intentionally unfinished walls and ceilings, creating a liminal space that reflects the unraveled psyche of the characters. “It’s as if the house could meet infinity or crumble at any time,” he says. “We also use a puppet as a silent observer, adding an additional layer of tension.”
For Sumeet, entering Mayank Tiwari’s shoes was an long -awaited moment. “I had read Stuck Years ago and it was supposed to do it at that time, but it didn’t happen, “he says.” So, when this opportunity arrived, I felt excited and relieved. “His character, Mayank, is more than just the ‘other man’.” It seems seriously and simple, but there is another side for him, a deeply rooted reaction to harassment that makes it unpredictable. He is not just a victim; He takes measures, and that makes it interesting to play. “

Despite a career occupied in the series and web cinema, Sumeet says that returning to the theater was exciting and stressful. “Harbor opened a new work in almost a decade, so I was really excited to return to rehearsals, make mistakes and rediscover that process. It is the good child or nervousness,” he admits.
Both Sumeet and Shubhrajyoti highlight the strong link between the cast, especially the dynamics between Sumeet and Kumud. After having worked together before, your friendship adds a layer of trust and freedom on stage.
Shubhrajyoti, who personally knows both actors for years, says that directing close friends brought his own set of challenges. “It can be an awkward change of friend to director, but with the actors of this caliber, you do not have to micrognition. It is more about guiding the characters” Arcos while trusting their instincts, “he says.
Shubhrajyoti feels that the thriller is an underground genre in the Indian stage made it special attractive. “The Thrillers are rarely made in the theater, and that scarcity was part of the attraction. A well -written script as it almost goes. You only need to represent it honestly, and it does the rest,” he says.
The 90 -minute Hindi work is for over 15 years. It catches May 9 and 10 at 7.30 pm in Shankara Ranga. Bookmyshow tickets.
