The leader of the Muslim League of the Indian Union (IIUML), KM Shaji, lashed out at Prime Minister Pinarayi Vijayan for justifying Sree Narayana Dharma Parifalana (SNDP) Secretary General Vellappally Natesan in the antimalappuram comments of the latter.

Mr. Shaji said in Kozhikode on Saturday (April 12, 2025) that his group never worried about Mr. Vijayan or Mr. Natesan. “Pinarayi Vijayan can be cooling his heels with the hope of winning his votes after a year. But we don’t care,” said Mr. Shaji.

Mr. Vijayan, while praising Mr. Natesan for completing 30 years as SNDP Secretary, said Mr. Natesan would never hate or damage any community. “His speech was never against any community,” said Prime Minister.

Natesan, while heading to a meeting in Nilambur a few days ago, said the Ezhava community lived under oppression in Malappuram. He added that they could not only breathe freely in the district. The former president of BJP, K. Southern, soon supported Mr. Natesan, claiming that Malappuram was a place where one would not get a single drop of water.
