Six members of the prison staff of the Gudalur sub-jar were suspended after they allegedly assaulted a subordinate to the one lodged in the prison in the Nilgiris.
The sources said that the victim of the attack, identified as Nizamudes, a resident of Padanthorai in Gudalur, accused of selling narcotic substances in Gudalur, was housed in prison when he was attacked by five prison employees, sharpening. The sources said that Nizamud’s family approached the Judiciary and the administration of the district seeking their intervention as they feared for their safety.
After this, an investigation was conducted, which included officials of the Department of Income and a judge of the Court of Gudalur, in the prison, which led to the suspension of six people, identified as Gangadharan, Gudalur, Guardian, Wave-Wedy, Wavewavententententantntinnasamy, Dineh Babu, Arun and Gobi.
On Thursday, it is said that the senior officials of the Department of Prisons of Tamil Nadu have carried out an inspection of the sub-via of Gudalur, where it is said that they had spoken with the conditions in the prison and their treatment there. Despite attempts to contact K. Jayabharathi, Dig of Prisons (West Zone) by phone, it was not overwhelmed to comment on the incident.
Nizamudens was taken to the Medical College and Medicine Hospital Udhagamandalam to receive treatment on Thursday.
