The intensification of market surveillance aimed at the infallible implementation of the Energy Efficiency Office (BEE) labeling program (S&P) by the Energy Conservation Mission of the State of Andhra Pradesh (APSECM) was appreciated by the BEE. S & LP helps consumers make informed decisions about the appliance and energy efficiency equipment by providing star classifications.
According to an official launch on Monday, the APSECM and other state designated agencies (SDA), namely, the Center for Limited Management and Energy Management of Telangana Energy Development Corporation of Kerala and others, have achieved significant progress in the application of the S&P. The Bee is increasing the application of its S&P by sharpening its approach to market surveillance as a tool to protect consumers and safeguard the ambitious energy savings objectives of India.
Bee emphasized the need for all SDA to intensify market surveillance to ensure that only genuine products marked with stars will reach consumers. Punctual controls of DECT violations are being carried out, which attract legal actions under section 26 of the 2001 Energy Conservation Law supervised by the State Electricity Regulatory Commissions.
