The Snehitha gender help table of Kudumbashree, which is in its twelfth year of providing refuge, advice and other services to women and children, managed 6,605 cases only in the financial year 2024-25.

Up to 1,692 people, including women and children, received refuge. Of the total number of cases, 1,102 permanently to domestic violence, 233 to sexual violence against children and 136 to other forms of violence against children.

These activities were carried out with the support of the police and the children’s help line.

Since the operations started on August 23, 2013, Snehitha has handled 60,889 cases. As many people on axis 11,776, including women and children, were tested temporary refuge.

Free legal assistance services, medical assistance and advice were provided in 49,113 cases in collaboration with the legal service authority of the district in question. These include cases that arrived at Snehitha’s office in person and those received by phone.

The 24 -hour help table under the auspices of Kudumbashree provides women and children who come to Snehitha directly with various temporary shelter problems for a maximum of three days.

In cases that require rehabilitation, support is proportional in collaboration with several non -governmental departments and organizations. Advisory services are also provided for those who need psychological support.

Snehitha currently works in the 14 districts and as part of the Attappady tribal development development project. Each Snehitha office has 11 employees, including two counselors, five service providers, an office assistant, a caregiver and two security guards who work per turn.

To expand the activities of the gender aid table, the SNEHITHA extension centers have started in police stations under the jurisdiction of 84 Deputy Police Superintendent/Commissioner Assistant Police Offices in the State in collaboration with the Department of Origin. These centers aim to guarantee psychological support by delighting community counselors to help women and children who come to policy stations. Eleven Snehitha sub -centers extend the services of the gender aid table to remote and isolated places.
