Stretch of OMR footpath to be improved

The Tamil Nadu Road Development Company (TNRDC) will improve a section of service lane in phase I U OMR near the VHS Hospital in Taramani.

“Since there is a little pedestrian movement there, we will form a new path near the planter box line that separates the main care of the lane. We will eliminate the intertwined brick and place a bituminous upper part there. TNRDC.

Students of nearby educational institutions and patient attendees use this section to reach the bus stop at Sardar Patel Road. “The surface is unequal and makes it difficult to drive or walk, special at night. You could try some lighting,” Southern Southern, a regular traveler.

The work is expected to begin shortly. The four trees will be kept, including two Banyanes, which existed even before the road is placed. The surrounding cement structure will be perfectly restored, stuck reflective stickers and the BT layer placed from the hospital wall.

A new opening to the main road will be to provide in the pots just before they begin the tree line so that heavy vehicles can join traffic on the road. A barrier will be erected in the service lane so that only cars, ambulances, authorickshaws and two -wheeled vehicles can use it. The lighting will also be providated, explained an engineer associated with the project.

Meanwhile, TNRDC has eliminated the debris of the construction of the paths to the Union of SRP tools. “People had been using the space to throw the trash forcing pedestrians to wear the road. We have a strength patrol in the area,” said an official.
